Good quality smart lock
I love the Yale lock for my front door. It is easy to customize the settings through the Yale app. I’ve had it on my front door for about a year now and still works well. I had a previous smart lock on the door and the keypad started to fall apart after several uses. This has been holding up well after being used multiple times a day

Works great
Great functionality and great app for our short term rental house. I like providing our guests with their own code that can have a time expiration. Pretty cool technology

Why an app to program.
My door came prepped for the handle and dead bolt. It took no time to install. Nice quality. Now to the dead bolt programming. Why do I need an app and an account to program a device that is located on my house. I'm a tech guy, but really!! I just want to program it locally and have a simple lock. I don't know why everything has to be so complicated. I have a couple of electronic locks on my out buildings and it makes it nice to just not have a key to get in. I understand some people want this feature, but I should have a choice to disable it if I want. Let's get back to basics. I chose this deadbolt because it had a key bypass for when the electronics die. I'm not saying right away but it will eventually.

Do not buy this lock
This lock looks great but does not function well. We spent hours with customer service trying to get it to calibrate. They sent a replacement unit. Same problem. I eventually got it unstuck with a screwdriver. Faulty production. The app is also terrible. All I want is for it to tell me if the door is unlocked. Instead, I get a series of notifications: "Passage Mode has been turned off," which means the door is shut and locked. I think. "Passage Mode has been turned on" means it's open? It makes a bizarre dying sea lion sound when the batteries are running low, but the indicator lights don't turn red or something obvious. After two days of the dying sea lion - I checked the app and it let me know that the batteries were almost dead. Why no notification? I changed the batteries and I've been getting notifications of Door Open, Door closed, Door open for two minutes... all day long. I'm the only one home and can see that no one has opened the door. I will probably replace this lock soon.

Died in less than 6 months
Worked well for a few months. Then burned through batteries didn’t matter what brand or even lithium. They lasted about week before it beeped until it was changed. Unsynced and auto lock stopped working. So buy it if you only need it for the next 5 months

Love the voice recognition lock and unlock feature
It’s a great lock, love that I can unlock it with my voice recognition. I somehow can’t get Alexa to work with it. Other from that, I love how it comes with the door handles which makes it look more uniform, rather than having to go out to look for a handle to match it.

Don't rely on batteries which come with the prodcut
Although I like the product and having for the short time was nice. I bought May 28, and installed the next day. Went out of the country for work on Jun 8th. No one used it while I was away. on 6/10, I got a message from Yale that the lock was disconnected. Got home and had to call a locksmith. Good news for anyone buying, even the locksmith could not pick or bump the lock. Had to drill. Yale is sending a new lock, but will not cover locksmith charges. Meanwhile I am back to manual lock. Be sure to use your own fresh batteries, not the ones that come in the box. After just 3 weeks of minimal operation, the supplied batteries died. Measured 0.81V on a volt meter once I got inside and pulled them.Update: Received the new lock from Yale. Used my own Energizer Lithium batteries this time. Lasted a little longer. Now I see reviews warning about short battery life of 3 months. My Schlage locks at least lasted 6 months. Gonna try without the wifi module. Will see how long that lasts.

No literature for using the app. Great lock once it is working with the app.
Review of Yale Assure Lock 2 Keypad with Bluetooth and Ridgefield Handle in Black SuedeSimultaneously the best and worst experience I’ve had installing one of these. Here’s what you need to know to avoid the problems I had. If possible, after installing the lock, use the QR code to do the setup. My phone usually has trouble with QR codes and I figured I’d bypass that and enter the serial number of the lock manually (which is an option). I accidentally entered the wrong number then I could not get the number taken out to change it. I could not get past the calibration settings, or get it to allow me to reset the lock and App. Here is how I eventually got it fixed. You have to push the Yale button on the keypad then when the lights are flashing you can reset the lock in the program. If you do not press the Yale button on the keypad first you can spend hours fighting with the app trying to get the lock to do anything. After an extended fight with the app I noticed it told me I was not connecting to Bluetooth. That apparently is what pressing the Yale button must do. It seems to activate the Bluetooth search before a connection is finalized. After I was able to reset the factory settings, the app took out the bad serial number. I then tried the QR code and it picked it up and led me through the installation process easier than any other keyless lock I’ve tried (I have four of these from other manufacturers). The construction is great, durable, good materials, nicely finished. Installation of the lock was simple, it has two pegs that slot into holes to align the screws so it goes together extremely easily. Mine is the keyed version, they only give you one key (two would be nice).I think it needs a manual available somewhere to describe using the app more clearly (I could not find an app manual online and it does not come with one, just installation manuals). Online I found videos that showed a direct method for entering codes using a Yale lock’s keypad that I tried with this lock and it must not be the same because the lock did not respond as they did in the videos. Once I got the lock and the app working together, installing codes was easy, but again a manual describing how to do that would be good.
