50 Watt Halogen 3156 Style Super Bright Back-Up Bulb

I wish I could report to you that this product is outstanding - unfortunately it is not. It is just adequate and I am not even sure that it is as bright as a regular backup bulb. To be fair, I have to report that I lost the sight in one eye this past year due to an accident and was somewhat hoping that these bulbs could really illuminate the area as I back up but as I said above they are just average, nothing special, nothing even approaching outstanding. Knowing what I know now, I would not have wasted my money on purchasing them.

So unless the picture has changed the bulb you get is nothing like the bulb shown.

I drive a lifted '02 Silverado with '03 OEM tail lights and a VERY darkly tinted rear window. I have been replacing all my bulbs to brighter/white bulbs. I saw these and it was a no brainer.UNTIL I installed one. What a waste of money (compared to OEM). I don't know what style of tail lights or more specifically if the back up lens is clear or white on the other reviewers who gave this a good rating but, I can tell you I replaced one side and had 3-4 of my friends tell me if they could tell the difference (without telling them which side was which)and they either said NO difference or BARELY a difference.Buyer beware. You have 14 days to return them UN OPENED. How can you tell if they are "as bright" as they say, if you DON'T open them?I read one review that suggest rewiring to a bigger gauge or using relays. I have no problem doing that IF it's not a waste of time and had that been suggested by the seller. As such I purchased them as "plug and play".I gave it 1 star because it won't let you do 0 stars.

Not made to go into a standard back up light on a car, will blow fuses

I would have been satisfied if the bulb made any difference. You are buying one single bulb, doubling the price with delivery, (always a tip off of a rip off).I was out $37., after paying the body shop $20 to open the tail light assembly on my Ford Excursion and install one bulb,With the factory installed back up light on the right side and the $27 Halogen bulb on the left side, and looking directly at both bulbs side by side, at night, I could not see ANY difference !!!Incredibly overpriced, useless annoyance !!

not much brighter than stock bulbs creates a lot of heat. melted my tail lens housing. better off with led i think.

decent lights but like other have stated they dont seem like 50 watts, but seem better than stock lights

Considered buying more expensive additional back up lights to make up for the poor stock lights on the 2007-2011 JK Wrangler. These did the trick and give me a much brighter light when in reverse. I'm really happy with them for the price. *** Don't keep them on for more than a few minutes in reverse, the higher wattage could melt your stock plastic light housing.
