LIVALL BH51T 2018 Urban Cycle Helmet with Remote Control and 270 Degree Integrated LED Indicator Lights

I originally bought this helmet for myself (average middle-aged woman, 54cm helmet size) but passed it over to my husband as it was waaay too big, even after adjustment. Much bigger than 55cm minimum size, in my opinion - my husband is a 58cm and it is only just satisfactory on him after maximum adjustment of headband and straps. The helmet is nice - not too heavy and offers good protection. However, there is almost a complete lack of instruction. You cannot even find instructions on the manufacturer website, or Youtube (and its not often that Youtube lets me down). By trial and error over an hour or so we worked out how to turn it on and off, and how to use the turn signals. And that it is supplied in Ambient Light Mode (the light only functions in what the helmet perceives to be darkness) which explained why we couldn't get it to turn on in bright light) but nohing tells you that in order to turn off the ambient light feature or change the flash mode, you have to download an app and use a smartphone. We found that out by trial and error. There is, disappointingly, no 'steady' red light - only flashing modes. As for the Bluetooth, although I'm very good at technology and pairing phones, and although my Smartphone can see the helmet, the very brief instructions don't appear to work - the helmet just won't pair and won't even enter pairing mode. The manufacturer website is woeful - for help I'd have to phone China. I'll try an email to see if that works, but other than that, it'll be a return. My husband likes the helmet and the concept of having lights on it - I think its an expensive bit of rubbish.UPDATE: Deafening silence from China. More research via Google shows that this model does not have speakers, phone hands-free or music playing abilities, despite suggestions to the contrary on both the description and the box - oh, and the presence of hands-free call and volume buttons on the handlebar controller. So basically it's only function is a helmet with lights and turn signals both of which are not really visible during the day. If you want to pay over £70 for limited functions which only work well at night, then by all means buy this. But cheaper alternatives are available.

I am a wheelchair user and I recently bought myself a Hybrid Handbike. The handbike is capable of doing up to 25mph, so it was obvious I needed a good helmet. After a lot of research I decided this was the helmet for me, and I was right. Yes it looks flash, but it doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but I didn't need them. It's a perfect fit, and looks the dogs! The few times I have been out the helmet has performed well and I love the bluetooth remote, it's so handy. I picked this colour combo over the black, and I absolutely love it. The helmet is light and very well made, and I am very happy with it. I feel confident that it would provide a high level of protection if I needed it.

Have had this and used regularly now for more than 2 years. Confortable helmet and the indicators are a great idea, alsolove the way the lights on the back come on as dusk falls. Battery life is good on the helmet and although I was worried about the battery on the control unit not lasting long it has not needed replacing in the 2 years I have used the helmet, FYI it uses a CR2032 button cell.

This is the second delivery of the helmet, properly boxed with all components, the first simply had a loose helmet without the necessary extras. Much happier now! Looking forward to my bike ride.

My head is a bit big for this and I can't be bothered to cary it round anymore. Other than that, it's very cool.

Fantastic helmet, the light and indicator feature helps me keep my hands on the handlebars rather than having to indicate with them which always makes me feel more vulnerable. Very comfortable and the air vents do a great job of keeping my head cool.

I bought this product for the Indicator Light feature . It is perfect for use on an Electric Scooter .
