Engaging product even for precocious 4 yr old
This was an exciting project for our 3 and 4 year old to do with adult supervision. It is messy b/c of the dust but was a huge hit with the kids because of the surprise element of ‘dig and find’. The little book that came with it helped to give info and detail to each piece excavated.

Daughter loved it
Shes 17. Its a bit childish for her age, but she is actually going to school for palentology in a year and she sat there and dug out ALL of the fossils and identified them in one afternoon. Well worth the money.

This is such a great toy for 8 and under. My granddaughter, age 5, got right down to digging for bones and other items. She was entertained for almost an hour, and still had more to find. I would advise that you put it on a rimmed cookie sheet to contain the dust. But she has her treasures in a jar and can't wait to get the next one.
