Leather Belts for Men's Ratchet Dress Belt Black Brown with Automatic Buckle

Ratchet belt provide better control and are generally pleasant to use, but this belt is not as good as others. The belt opens by pulling a little lever under it. You can see it on the photo. It is clunky and does not open smoothly when belt is used. Other ratchet belts sold on Amazon are better made and extra $10 are worth it. Still this belt works fine and I will keep it because of a better color match with my shoes. Yet I would have probably bought one that open by pulling the buckle itself.After 4 month the buckle's ratchet mechanism broke - changing rating from 2 stars to 1 star -

Product feels and look really good the only problem is that the color doesn't match the pictures of the description, I haven't tried the black one but this one isn't as pictured.

Really like this design alot(its like wearing a Zip Tie around your waist) VS the one you punch a hole i, or push the belt buckle pin through a hole on the leather belt. The Leather always starts to wear out, if you wear your belt all day like i do n sweat a lil around the waist. This design stands up really well without damaging the belt itself though. I Give it 4 Stars cuz this Belt doesn't snug as good unless its pulled in almost exactly around the waist, if it isn't it kinda loosens. I have other belts like this doesn't do this so i noticed it right off the bat. Definitely not a deal breaker though just something to improve, Great product get it!!!

The ratcheting system (as I call it) works very well for me because I have a gut (to get rid of) and bloating sometimes based on what I eat. It's nice to be able to adjust the belt by approximately quarter-inch increments rather than entire inches or more with regular belt holes. Tightening them back up is easy by just pushing the belt leather more past the buckle. No unbuckling anything and no searching for the end of the belt. I originally found this style of belt ratchet system with another vendor that uses it for gun belts, which have a strip of metal and other fibers running through it lengthwise in order to make them very firm and stable for concealed carry. (Called "Trackline belts") This belt I'm reviewing though, does not have that rigidity, and that's ok because it is not meant for that purpose. Again, if you are looking to use this belt for concealed carry (especially outside-the-waistband) it is not meant for that and won't have the strength to hold equipment in place. Just wanted to make sure you know that just in case. But as a dress belt (which was my purpose in purchasing it), it works great! I actually like the buckle mechanism better on this belt than the "gun belt" version because it seems to move smoother for me and this belt has the added convenience of a metal "belt loop" right next to the buckle so you can feed the end of the belt immediately through it which keeps it in place and tight to the body. Some of the other belts I have seen out there rely on your pant belt loop for that security -- but if your pant belt loop is not near the buckle, your belt end might bow outward. This metal belt loop they include keeps that from happening. Just like the other version I got for concealed carry, this belt arrives with a full length which would be too big for most people -- with the idea that you will try it on and see how much length you need to cut off to size it correctly. Just pull out the "teeth" holding the leather in the buckle to remove the leather and cut down to the size you need. Make sure you cut the end that will be reinserted to the "teeth" of the buckle! NOT the end that will go through the buckle ratchet system when you wear the belt normally. I would HIGHLY SUGGEST that when you cut the leather, you leave it a little longer than you originally think you'll have to in order to test the length when you put the belt back on. You can always repeat the process to cut more off, but you can't put it back on if you cut too much off the first time! :-) This way you can make sure the end of the belt goes through your pant loop at a proper length when you put the belt on. Maybe I got a defective one... maybe they're fake reviews.... I know those two options don't help anyone like me who rely on reviews to determine whether or not to buy a product. I had to cut the belt off because the buckle would not release the belt as it's supposed to... it obviously righted like it's supposed to though... heheh. there's not much more for me to say about the product, I already have a couple of the ratchet belts from other vendors on Amazon and they work flawlessly (same ratchet style as this one was)... I love these ratchet buckles, I can only recommend buying from someone else based on my experience.

great belt. the color is perfect. the blue is not too bright and it is not too dark. looks nice. the release can be tricky. once you get how to work it, it is fine. the key is to slightly tug the belt ( like you were going to tighten the belt) and depress the release notch on the buckle at the same time. Hint: get 2 sizes larger. this will allow ample room for the excess to tuck into a belt loop after you have cut the belt to size.

Husband received a black, name brand Ratchet belt as a gift. He loved it and wanted one in brown, just didn't want to spend as much as the name brand. We found this one and bought it. He loves the color and the fit. We will probably be getting another one in another color. All the buckles are different, so that's a nice feature.Although it ships from China and we were told it would take more than a month to receive it, it showed up in about 2 weeks. Pleasantly surprised.

I love the clever design. The ratchet mechanism makes it much-more adjustable than the standard "holey" design and it looks like it will be much more durable: my belts always tear out the holes. It took me a couple of minutes to really understand how to use it - and how to cut off a piece to make it fit me. But it comes with directions and I love how easy it was to cut off a few inches and have a belt that is just right - and also easily lets me make minor "fit changes" via the ratchet - effortlessly. Looks good. Fits great. Grows / shrinks with my gradual size changes. Kudos to the engineering. It should replace all belts!
