I was looking for the Dressy Bessy like my daughter had
Bought it for my grand-baby. I was looking for the Dressy Bessy like my daughter had, & gave up looking when I discovered collectors dolls are only available on-line for outrageous prices. I bought Emily still wishing for good old Bessy. Here is a case where newer is really better. Emily is so cute, well made, and colorful. Everybody loves her. Since my daughter has twins, I needed a " dressy" doll for the boy twin. Of course Dapper Dan was not to be found, so I ordered the Elmo dressy doll. He is wonderful too ! Floppy, brightly colored, soft. Both dolls have lots of fasteners for little fingers to practice on.

Dress Me Emily ALMOST as great as the old Dressy Bessy!
I really was seeking the old Playskool "Dressy Bessy" (and Dapper Dan, remember them?) for my little one yr old girl for her birthday, but I only found a few imitations. This one was the closest to looking like a "normal" doll, and her expression is sweet. The ONLY thing I really dislike is that her shoes, etc actually come off....so your child can LOSE them in your house, HA....Other than that, it is a great toy and a good way for your toddler to learn how we button, snap, velcro, etc. I like the doll!

I think I enjoy this doll a little more then my 2 year ...
I think I enjoy this doll a little more then my 2 year old. she cant quite undo/do things quite yet. But, her name is Emily and every year I try to get her something named after her that is age appropriate. The button is kind of hard to undo -- i have trouble with it... needs to be made a little easier. There is no way an 18 month old child could manipulate the majority of these items. But, its fun for them to cary around and pretend play with.

Our daughter loves it but most of the closures are velcro
Our daughter loves this doll, but I wish it had more types of closures. The belt doesn't actually have a buckle. The dolls with more snaps and things are more expensive, but I think it's worth it if you are really trying to teach a child to get dressed.

Cute and functional
I got this well before my girl was developmentally ready so she has plenty of time to work on it. She has been most drawn to the button, snap, and zipper so far. Things I wish were a little different on this doll: wish the socks could come off so she could practice that (I know then they could get lost). Wish the snap wasn't so hard to do. I find it a challenge so I'm not sure she'll ever be able to do it. Wish the belt actually had holes and a buckle. There is an abundance of velcro: one shoe, the bracelet, and the back of the dress. Maybe they could have made 1 or 2 of those things something else for more.variety of learning tools. I'm not sure any doll would meet all of those things so all in all I'm happy with the purchase.

Very cute...
have been searching for the old "dress me doll" from playskool (i think) and this one is as close as it gets! The only thing its missing is the "snap" buttons but it has velcro, button, zipper and shoe laces..... my 18 month old loves her.....

My 2YO Daughter Loves it!
When it arrived my 2 YO daughter couldn't hardly wait for me to get it out of the package! She loves it and takes it everywhere with her. As long as it pleases her, I'm happy! It is sort of a basic dress me doll and some of the velcro items are a bit much but considering my daughters reation that can be overlooked by us.A nice addition to her doll collection!

Good Value
Purchased as a Christmas present for a granddaughter - am sure she will like it. My children had Dapper Dan and Dressy Bessy but this little lady looks more human and less clownlike and is purported to have 10 activities to learn as opposed to the 5 offered by the remakes of Dan and Bess.
