Rambo First Blood 18 cm

A Rambo figure by NECA was always going to be a must buy for me but I was very disappointed with the production photos.In hand, its not bad at all and I'm grateful to have a figure of the 80's icon.The GOOD:Plenty of articulation on this figure - including a ball-jointed neck and well hidden leg articulation.Great accessories with him too - including three removable bullet belts, a knife, his machine gun and an interchangeable right hand to hold the knife.Paint detail on his outfit and accessories are excellent (as per the norm with NECA) and maybe I was lucky, but his head was very nicely painted.The BAD:His head-sculpt is disappointing no matter what way you look at it. Its OK if you got a good paintjob, but compare it to NECAs Dutch Schaefer it is a let-down.NECA have started using a hard-to-explain real style plastic on the skin of their human figures. Sometimes it works, but here its lacking any sort of paintwash or detail too it, and it cheapens the look of the figure.Painted nostrils DO NOT WORK. EVER.First Blood is the best of the Rambo series, but doesn't feature his iconic look. I want the red-headband military style look, but NECA says they plan on releasing one more figure from First Blood, and will get to First Blood Part II in 2014.Overall, worth having for us 80s fans and as always, I appreciate figures of iconic characters from movies I love.

Very accurate of John Rambo from First Blood. The flesh detailing on the figure is excellent. The detail on the figure's jeans and boots are very well done. I like that the machine gun belts around his torso can be removed and that the figure has a spare right hand to hold his knife securely.It would have been brilliant if you were able to have to thread the belt into the M60 machine gun for added authenticity.Articulation is top notch just like the Dutch figure in the Predator series: the joints are almost hard to see and you can put the figure in some good poses.I am not sure about the face sculpt on the figure as I prefer neutral expressions on action figures. I think NECA are going to release one like this soon. Good job NECA.If you like First Blood get this it would look cool displayed on your shelf.

If you're after a Rambo figure - this is a great one. It's 7" tall with realistic detail. The sculpt of Stallone's head is especially impressive. It comes with several accessories - including an M60 gun, a survival knife, and lots of bullets!The figure is made by NECA, and they've done a good job. It depicts John Rambo from the original 'First Blood' film - after he's arrived back at the town, for the final act of the movie. It has lots of articulation (and, fortunately, the joints are not too visible).Overall, this is an excellent display piece. I paid under £15 (using Amazon), and I thought this was a reasonable price. Sellers who charge in excess of £20 are over-pricing this item.

This addition to neca bosts a lovely gun but shiny paint finish and unhidden arm hinges let down the overall lookn. Even the lifelike face diddnt work this time neca .

When i first saw the two Rambo First Blood figures by Neca, i had no doubt in which one i was going to pick. That was the Survival version. I always thought that this version didn't look right. But being a Neca, Rambo and movie fan in general, i decided to give this one a chance. I am glad i did it. It looks much better in person than in pictures. If you have doubts, give it a go ! After all, it's a Neca figure !
