This is an excellent comprehension book. I tutor English, and home and online, and many of my students have been exposed to comprehension, but they have never had the basic concepts explained to them. This book discusses a concept at the beginning of each text extract, and the questions - mostly - are about the 'key to comprehension' tip. E.G. one lesson explains what an inference is the next how to justify your reasoning for making that inference. The texts are a good length, short enough to finish in a session. Faster students will get through 2 or 3 in a session. So far all my students have enjoyed this book and felt much more confident after doing it. They like understanding the concepts. It's also excellent for ESL students who may have good English but are not familiar with the way English is taught as a subject in the UK.

Amazing. Son was struggling with comprehension. I really like the way this book breaks it down. I wish I discovered it ages ago.

Brilliant book for understanding texts. Quick and easy to digest chunks of information. I would say it is more for children in year 4(age 8-9) and above though.
