Q: If light passes through it cant even be 4 mil. What is the manufacturers' stated thickness then?

Light does NOT pass through it. It is not meant to be left on all day. Light deprivation is about shortening the light cycle, to initiate flowering usually. This process is most often to make sure that the plants do not receive more than 12 hours of light, or get less than 12 hours of dark. By shortening the photoperiod (continuous light) and lengthening the period of dark the plant is tricked into thinking it's time to flower. I have mine (on a big roller) down in the evening, and back up at 10 in the morning. The white is faced out to lower the build up of heat, the black is to make it opaque. If you want to decrease light all day, get some shade cloth (not opaque).

I have a 25X45 ft swimming pool and each year I buy plastic sheeting to cover it. most plastic only lasts 1 year,but this has lasted 2 years and still has not torn, it cost a little more but is worth it.

I would think OK, I use it to kill off grass in my garden and does a great job.

This cover will be at least 40’ x 25’ when fully unrolled and unfolded. Sometimes it will be slightly bigger, but it will not be smaller.
