Gets filthy fast and is utterly impossible to get clean. Feels like a lead apron.
I bought this last Spring hoping it would help keep the constant shedding of the resident bed 'corner cat' in check. I must admit that he has seemed to like it very much. But as much as I have tried to like it I simply can't because, while it succeeds on a few important levels it totally fails on several others.Where it succeeds:It's impervious to water. While covered, the bed is protected from any and all liquid spills. That means the coffee cup I accidentally dropped on it while laying in bed didn't soak through to the down comforter underneath. It's also been a success at keeping the dirt/grime etc that comes from being on the bed with work clothes or while wearing shoes doesn't get on the comforter either. That includes the copious shedding contributed by my Savannah cat - as well as the dirt that he cleans off of himself while laying on it.Where it fails:1. It grabs pet hair like a magnet and won't let go. My first experience with trying to wash it in our machine ended with me running it through two full wash cycles. After which it still came out covered in pet hair. Mind you, considerably LESS pet hair - but lots of it nonetheless. Add to that the fact that the blanket's water protection means that it can trap and hold water in gallon quantities during the wash cycle (we're talking water balloon here folks) and you've got the potential to a: destroy your washing machine and b: spend hours of dryer time and still not get it completely dry.I tried laying it flat on my hardwood floor and running our Dyson 'Animal' vacuum cleaner over it again and again - NO LUCK! Although the Dyson did get a lot of the hair off there was still a ton of cat hairs buried in the blanket's fiber that refused to budge.A few days ago I laid the blanket flat on my patio concrete and PRESSURE WASHED IT! Results? It still had pet hairs clinging to it all over. Mind you, I'm not some clean freak obsessing about a dozen hairs left after a thorough cleaning - we're talking HUNDREDS of pet hairs remaining AFTER pressure washing! Following the pressure washing I hung the blanket on a clothes line and let it dry in the sun. This morning I took my Stihl '200 mph' leaf blower and went at it hammer and tongs. So many dust clouds flew off the blanket you might have thought you were witnessing a desert storm. At the end of this effort there were STILL pet hairs clinging to the blanket! Holy Cow!So, to sum up the #1 problem with this blanket and why I won't be using it anymore? It gets really cruddy really fast - attracts pet hair like a magnet and won't let it go no matter what.2. It's really heavy! I don't mean 'thick blanket' heavy. I mean 'Dentist Office Lead Apron' heavy. As I mentioned above, I bought it last Spring after winter's passing. I noticed the heavy weight immediately but decided that I could learn to live with it if it kept the pet hair/animal detritus problem in check. Fast forward to Fall cooler weather time and I discovered that my favorite down comforter had somehow failed in it's job of keeping me warm at night. Took me a couple of nights to realize that the comforter's failure was not it's fault. It was the heavy pet blanket pressing down on it so hard that it lost all of its insulating loft. So... for those of you who are thinking it might work well keeping you protected from pet hair and water spillage this winter AND allow you to use a comforter to help keep the cold at bay? Forget it.

FANTASTIC for Protecting a Queen-Size Bed!
I am *so* glad that I ordered this pet blanket! I have both a dog and a cat, and they love to hang out on my bed. The dog is housebroken, but occasionally will throw up (yay, on the bed), and the cat - well anybody who has ever had a cat knows that they hack up everywhere. Plus, the cat is prone to peeing on soft things - and while he hasn't peed on the bed in a long time (fingers crossed), I'm always aware that he *might*.So, for years I have kept my bed covered during the day with a decorative, waterproof shower curtain (this one: Ufaitheart Rome's Life Pattern Extra Long Shower Curtain and this one: Eforgift Floral Pattern Fabric Shower Curtain , in case anyone's interested) - and I use the included plastic curtain hooks to hook the shower curtain to my headboard, to keep it from sliding around when the critters jump on it.But recently I have had reason to want my bed to look a bit nicer (ahem) - and so I started googling for the best blankets to repel pet hair (for when the shower curtain comes off at night), and read that fleece tends to not attract pet hair as badly as some other materials, and that pet hair adheres to fleece less than some other materials - didn't make sense to me, but who am I to argue with Google? So, more searching for fleece blankets, and suddenly I came across this waterproof pet blanket!Whoa! This sounded like exactly what I needed, and so after reading some of the glowing reviews here, I ordered one for my bed.I AM SO GLAD THAT I DID!!!The dog and cat both *love* laying on this blanket! And I *love* that in fact it does seem to collect less pet hair. Not only that, but it's a nice, heavy blanket, so that it stays put on top of my bed (no shower hooks needed ;-) )And it looks great!Buh-bye, shower curtain! The size Large *just* fits to cover the top of my queen-sized bed...it goes right to the edges, top, and bottom, but does not hang over at all. It's *exactly* the size of the top. If you instead lay it sideways (which is how they have it in the picture) it will hang over the sides some, but not go all the way to the top of the bed.I ordered the French Blue, and it's a lovely shade of blue. All in all I am *very* glad that I bought this blanket!

Worth the Investment
Exactly what I was looking for. Soft and without that waterproof 'crinkle' sound of other products I've tried. My dog hasn't peed on it yet so I cannot speak to that yet. But she did hop right up and claim it. Picture is of a queen size bed. Light gray sheets so you can see color difference. It's a bluish gray to me!

This fits on my queen bed nicely. If I position it one way it doesn't cover the pillows but drapes nicely over both edges of the bed. If I position it the opposite way it will cover the bed top to bottom but not drape over the sides. I have a older dog who is on steroids who has occasional accidents and wanted to protect our bedding. The blanket is soft and quiet enough to use every day and the buff color was light on one side and a light tan color on the other. It's a very neutral choice. It's a bit price but is well made and will save me lots of time and trouble if there is an accident. It's exactly what I've been looking for - thanks!

Bunny Blanket
Got this blanket to protect my bed because my bunny sleeps on it. Now I don't have to worry if she has an accident. The blanket fits over the bed exactly as shown in the photo and is a thick material so it stays put even with pets and kids jumping around.

Great purchase
Pretty darn amazing! I got this because my cat urinated on the guest room bed and it was a hassle to clean up the mess/get rid of the smell.. Since I've had this on the guest room bed, the cat has urinated on it twice. I tossed in the washing machine & dyer and it came out virtually brand new. Much easier then when the cat urinated directly on the bed. If you have a pet with bladder problems, this is a must-have. I only wish it was a little bit longer (maybe two inches in each direction), because it just barely covers the top of a queen bed and would be nice if it could drape down the sides just a bit. Oh well...still worth every penny.
