Wow! Easy simple set up and works great.
This 72v pump was a perfect fit for my needs. I had a 48v pump prior to this and it worked jut as good. I bought this pump because of the price. I currently have it connected to two 350w panels (connected in series) and it pumps like crazy through my DE filter. It uses 1.5 connections. It filtered my entire pool within one day. I have bought from Happybuy before and they are a good company to do business with. Don’t miss out on this special deal. Not sure how long this pump will last but if it lasts only a year, then I saved twice that in electrical bills alone. I will keep you posted on longevity.Update….April 18, 2022. Still pumping like crazy. It is so quiet when it is running. Love this pump.Update…..January 21, 2024. Still pumping. This is the best pool pump. Do the math. I saved over $125 per month on electricity.

Install and 5 month update
The media could not be loaded. Update.. 3 weeks in i find this fell in pump tank after i took basket out to ckean it. Anyone have an ideal what part of pump is going to expolde now ? Impossibleto suck up thru basket with little power this has. Reviewing JP21-19 / 900 I finished installing today. Power cord is 6 ft not 9, motor is quite as described, but over rated with Power description. I plumbed separate with its own cartridge filter and valves to keep th AC motor system as back up. The DC motor same HP AC sister has no where near to Power or pressure output. The motor can't handle the Baracuda cleaner attachment as it has no power to do skimmer and Floor cleaner. As far as panels. I used 10 100 watt 12 volt with 2 series of 5 and parallel together with 110 v to control and 1000 watt. Prime as mentioned and works like a charm.. just 1/2 the gut force as the 1 hp AC motor. Time will tell on long-term life, and the next week will tell on circulating / cleaning during day with AC motor off line. Just have to find a low pressure floor cleaner and compare KW use for October vs others. Project was fun. All in just above $2k to take pool pump system off grid 80% of time with AZ sun. So research, ask questions and jump in the water. Use common sense and build all safety systems into your project. Update day 4: when the motor gets full power (sun) say around 10am am (October in Arizona) as panels face south it's moving good until around 4pm or until the west panel in the row starts to shade. Still not enough as AC motor, but good. Started making a noise from the impeller housing this morning before going full power. I'll watch that as it may just be due to about 30% power and circulating only. So changing from 3 to3 1/2 stars (if I could). I'll update after the first month use. We did have a monsoon storm, and used the AC motor and sand filter for an hour to clean it up ac DC system couldn't handle after storm clean up of pool. 3/27/2023 update: still not sure where that scew in basket came from, but motor is still running and saving $90 a month on electric bill. The controler kicks in a low well mode at least once a day and more on sunny days but recovers itself (even with a jump wire in the well slots). Today had a low power error on box, removed cover, tested volts etc.. still has same power incoming, reattached cover and it went out). As for using the barracuda cleaner... on sunny days it works ok at still about half the power on 1 hp AC motor, but savings vs running AC motor system ever 3 weeks is good. Cloudy days I can rotate to skimmer/drain and circulation of water still happens, that good. So after 5 months in I'll go with a 4 star change. See how the summer works. I did add a cover over motor even though it takes side way rain to get close to it. Still quite and operating good.

Specs & stuff you should know
I just purchased one of these and installed it over the weekend. Had to pour a pad on Friday night and then ran out to buy solar panels on Saturday along with getting other misc. parts like PVC, etc.I will do an update on this pump after I have tested it out. Will also do a 3-Month, 6-Month, and year review and let you know about the durability of the pump and it’s electrical savings. My initial impressions (and reason I only gave this product 3-Stars) is that: 1. WHY in the world have they not posted the actual manual in this listing instead of all the other meaningless garbage posted? I posted the solar panel sizing page for the 900w pump, but having the entire manual (that includes all pump sizes) would have been very helpful before purchasing.I had planned to buy slightly smaller 350w (used) solar panels from Facebook marketplace because this pump is rated at 900 Watts. I did some research and it seems the rule of thumb for sizing solar panels is to add a minimum of 10% more than the power needed. As you can see from the page of the manual I am posting with this review - the manufacturer recommends three 380-400W panels with voltage not to exceed 150VDC.I didn’t want to add the additional cost of hurricane rated mounting hardware or the additional roof space needed to run 6 panels (3 pieces in series - 2 groups in parallel) so I found a seller in my area who had new 370w tier 1 panels for $135/panel. Total of $405 plus tax. Deal!2. VEVOR/Happybuy provides NO WAY out of the box to actually mount the solar pump controller. You are on your own to figure that one out. At first was thinking about just drilling through the back of the controller box and tap con it to the wall - but wasn’t too crazy about the idea of not having a fully weatherized control box. Then I noticed they actually do have threaded holes on the back of the pump controller- no idea what size they are but I know my bolt sizer was too small at 10/32 and a 1/4-20 doesn’t fit. Metric? Well, M6-1.0 might fit, but was very tight and M5-.8 was way too small. Come on VEVOR/Happybuy — how much would it really cost to provide mounting brackets and screws that fit the solar controller? Just providing the correct screws would be nice or even providing info like the size of the screw holes in the manual would be great. These details make a huge difference in perceived (and actual) value.3. The pump housing feels very thin/cheap in comparison to the inexpensive Doheny’s 240v pump I bought to back this one up. It’s way WAY less impressive than the body of my old Hayward Super Pump - but to be fair this is about half the price and FREE to run with solar power - hopefully it will hold up well.

Low cost and performs well
I first purchased a much more expensive pump, but it arrived with many parts broken and had to be returned. Went back to Amazon shopping and found this pump for half the price. I installed the pump, panels (not included with purchase) and controller myself. All very straight forward. I left my AC pump plumbed in just in case the new DC pump was not strong enough to use to vacuum however the DC pump does just fine and moves plenty of water to vacuum pool. Very happy with this product Sun comes up, pump turns on. Sun goes down, pump shuts off. During summer my pump runs 11hrs a day, something I couldn't afford to do on AC. Pool has never been cleaner. Thank you!
