This thing is pretty great
Now I haven't put it through some real abuse testing, but it cuts through cedars pretty quick. If you use it one handed and don't have Andre the giant hands, its gonna cause some fatigue. But it will clear the way fast. and its not as heavy as I thought it would be. Wrap the handle. its gets a little slick if you sweat, or its wet outside.

4.5 Star tool. Well made and useful. Great tool to install on tractor.
Surprisingly well built and useful tool. Have all kinds of axes, hatchets, trimmers, etc used on the farm. Regular machete not all that useful. Been clearing overgrowth with lots of super evergreen swedish ivy, honey suckle, poison ivy and looking for a better tool. Use a tractor with grapples to clean the big stuff. Then use this to do the cleanup and cut vines from trees. Worked better than I thought.ProsGood length and great handle. Examining before use thought the blade was too thin, but it worked well and wasn't overly fatiguing to use.Sharpened before I used it, <5 minutes on belt grinder and finished with stone. Blade stays sharp and the forward weight of blade really can cut deep. The slight bill hook makes cutting vines and small limbs safe and effective. . Some vines were 3" think and took multiple strikes to cut through with the hatchet blade. The sheath is very well made. Good price point for a quality tool. Like the combination of edges and tools. Should last a long time.ConsSheath has no belt loop. Not a problem for me. Pop riveted sheath to the canopy of the tractor to have it readily available. One hand can unsnap strap, rip the substantial velcro pocket open and remove the tool. Feel safe to carry tool this way. We mow with this little tractor so always handy for trimming. The tool is not sharp. All tools have to be sharpened and maintained so no big deal. Haven't found the saw blade section on the back that useful.-0.5 StarUnusual but useful tool to keep around. Makes quick work of smaller stuff and especially viney materials. Price was reasonable. MIght buy another for a 2nd tractor because it worked so well. Highly recommended. .This tool has been very handy for spring cleaning. 140 acre farm, mostly wooded. Pop riveted sheath to tractor ROPS canopy so always handy and safe to carry. Great for clearing small limbs or vines on roads, trails and fences. Chopping into the ground hitting rocks has dulled and slightly chipped blade but expected and easily resharpened. Bought a second one for another tractor. Unlike the the first one the blade came factory sharpened. Clearly could see were the blade coating had been ground to leave a fairly sharp edge..Required little effort to bring it to the sharpness that I like. Enjoying this new tool and like the results from using.Bought another to keep on the 4-wheeler. Fits nicely between the body and front rack. Very handy tool to clear face slappers on trails.

More work than electrics, but does a better job and quicker.
I clicked "Love it", and I do, but it's not like I love what I have to do with it. I have a creek that runs along one side of my property for about 200 feet. It then lets in to a proper stream for maybe another 200 feet. Along this grow the most monstrous weeds the NC high country can grow. I also have a steep bank that leads to the woods. Along it, the same weeds. They pop up quick, grow tall, and some even get wood-like stalks that can't be trimmed with a string trimmer, at least not easily.I was out there one afternoon, baking in the sun, drawing that trimmer back and forth trying to cut back some of the growth so I could mow down the grass beneath, and it struck me how inefficient it was. My nerd brain immediately thought "wish I had like, a sword", and then I remembered "Hey! They make something like that."I figured I'd end up with some cheaply made bad-steel worse-handle costume prop machete, but it turns out there are some serious, actual tools available, and not always very expensive. A fan of my Fiskars axes (I own 4 and use them each), I bought this. As I expected, it's an awesome improvement over the trimmer when it comes to taking out brush. I put a worrisome edge on it when I got it, and then set out to work. One good one-handed swing with this baby and down they went. With twice the physical effort (yes, it's a workout), I was able to clear the entire bed area in less-than half the time it usually took with the trimmer. Plus, it's more fun. Plus, I feel awesome, like a mad man, the scourge of unwanted botanicals. The saw side works well, too, and as a half-axe, it works alright. I have a fallen tree in the back of my property, and I cut it down to trunk with just this thing. I should've used a saw, but I had too much fun whacking away at it. Plus, I wanted to see how it would hold up to some serious abuse. Four hours into it, the blade was still sharp, there were no dings or pits, the handle was intact, and the tree was bare.I've had it for a few weeks now and have used it for probably 20 hours total. I highly recommend it if you actually have need for such a thing. If you have deep, overgrown brush that's any higher than your knees (mine was about neck), this will make quick work of it and wear you out in the process.
