Court Office Assistant(Passbooks) (Career Examination Series) None Edition

I bought this in the hopes that it would help me prepare for the NYS Court Assistant Exam in October 2010.Not so much...The book itself is shoddily made; it has a plastic spiral binding, the print sometimes almost goes off the page, and the tone of the ink itself varies from black to light grey throughout.The questions could have been useful had they given explanations to go along with the answer key. Compared to the Barron's book for the Court Officer Exam, this is a joke. I threw it away after just a couple hours of trying to use it. It doesn't give you any strategies or any information regarding the test. Only questions that you would either know or not know, and if you don't know the answers to them, you're SOL.The actual exam was quite simple, and as long as you understood basic grammar, math skills (adding, lol) and had decent reading comprehension you were all good.I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a study guide for a court assistant exam bypass this book completely and save your money.

Although this is just a guideline there are quite a few questions that have incorrect answers. Frustrating as you sit for hours at a time trying to go over this guide and can’t figure out why something is “c” when your answer is “b” (the correct answer) asked a few people to go over some questions to be sure I wasn’t doing something wrong

I recently took the Court Assistant Exam, and used the Court Assistant 1 book to study from, but I also found some helpful sections from this book. If I ever try for the Court Office Assistant exam, I will be ready! Thanks. Respectfully,
