But the video that came in the box helped, so I say skip the manual and just watch the video instead. I would also suggest purchasing a leveler so you can make sure the pole is straight. This is my 3rd pole & so far (the brands I bought before, sucked), I am satisfied with this particular brand. I took out the screws at the bottom of the pole to make it spin. I have it on carpet and I have popcorn ceilings.***Update***It's now October 2018. This pole is still going strong!

Ok so I've been wanting a pole to use for exercise for about 3 years and all this time I've been doing all kinds of research on the best pole to buy. I purchased this pole last Thursday and got it Monday morning so super fast shipping. I will say the packaging was bad. The box was flimsy and the base part of the pole was torn through the box. But all the pieces were there and wasn't missing anything. I will agree the paper instructions were HORRIBLE. But with commen sense and watching the DVD me and my sister were able to do this by ourselves. I am 5'7 and 160 pounds and this pole is SO STURDY! My husband who is 6'4 and 200 pounds was spinning and flipping all over this thing and had no issues. My sister husband also 6' foot and 250 pounds was doing flips and spins with no problem. EXTREMELY STURDY no question about that.A lot of the reviews said it doesn't work with "popcorn" ceilings but I bought this anyways against what the reviews said and it works great with my ceiling. For 130$ bucks this is comparable to the X pole but a cheaper alternative. I would highly recommend this pole if your looking for one. No doubt.

Pole is great and sturdy....once you can figure out the "trick" to making it fit the space you have. Directions were not clear at all!!! And i've yet to figure out how to make it spin vs. being static. Make the directions more clear and i'd give 5 stars.**If you can't get yours to fit with the 2 size adapters, there is a black piece in pole b that you need to twist to adjust the spacing between the pole and ceiling fixture. Once figuring that out (hours later for me) it is easy to assemble. Does not show or say this ANYWHERE in the manual!!**

I set it up and the floor base broke from the pole in the first ten minutes of having it up. I set up a return but cannot get the pole apart to mail it back/ fit it in the car. If you're on a budget and you're not looking for a stripper pole made of diamonds, this is the one for you. I am a newer dancer, so I haven't been able to try extreme pole tricks on mine yet. However, the installation process wasn't too bad. NOTE: WATCH THE YOUTUBE TUTORIAL FOR INSTALLING!!! The DVD it came with does show you how to set it up but there is not audio, and the directions are pretty unclear even with visual aid.This pole when in spinning mode REALLY gets twirling fast, so do be careful practicing unless you're a champion at controlling your momentum. The ceiling dome is very sturdy, haven't ever seen it loosen up too much and I've been checking it a lot.Overall, I think this pole is good for the price. You may want to get a fancier pole if you're very serious about having a pole and using it A LOT. I don't use mine too much. I love my pole!

Great and sturdy for static mode. No issues climbing or sitting. Spin mode simply doesn't exist, or at least for me it didn't. After loosening and removing the screws for spin mode, the pole only scrubbed the base and did not spin at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled the pole several times and in different locations of my house to be sure. I even loosened the pole from the ceiling but it would either bow in the middle or fall... still wouldn't spin. If you need a pole for stationary purposes then this is an awesome choice. If you want to spin and do tricks, this is not the pole for you. I've ultimately decided to return it to find one that better suits my needs. :(

So I'm never the one to write a bad review , but I will let you guys know that its some bs on how the directions don't even help at all & you basically have to Youtube it & second of all I was waiting for this damn pole to come in because I already have a static pole at home & thought , " Oh if I buy a pole that spins it'll be better" & comes to find out that this pole doesn't EVEN SPIN . My bf said its literally a joke . I was so happy for this pole to come in so I can practice & I ordered it GOLD , you can imagine how happy I was . But nah ya'll dont want me to be great & send me a pole that DOESNT SPIN . I even went over the reviews and everything & gave this a try . I'm sooo disappointed, all the hype FOR NOTHING . I WANT MY MONEY BACK .

Ok I really I am not the type to write a bad review. I delayed unboxing this item and spend days trying to assemble it. I missed my opportunity to return this item so now I’m stuck with hunk of useless metal. I just want parts or a refund. I only wanted this item to work I don’t want to be that squeaky wheel complaining but I was so disappointed that I have to speak up. I was really excited for this item to work and I intentionally opted to buy this pole even though it was more expensive than competitor’s products. I have gone to my local Spencer’s but I choose this item and I feel like a fool. I choose this item since I thought it would be quality. It even had a “good” rating on Amazon. I’m pretty sure I’m missing parts. Because I cannot think of any good reason I can’t assemble. It was suppose to be easy to assemble..and I wasn’t. For the love of god I cannot assemble this item. I even had two friends try to help me and none of us had any success. I sorry to leave a bad review... but I’m so upset my with purchase :(
