Good value, does the job
Wanted this to use a spare pcie slot for an M2 drive. Easy to add the drive to the card, but the instructions were poor (on how to fit the heat sink, 2 pads and rubber bands supplied with no instructions on what they are for / how to fit them). Seemed quite obvious but had bits left. Easily fitted into the pcie slot. Formatted drive and works with no problems.

Worked perfectly first time. Does exactly what it says on the tin
My MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard only has one M.2 slot which is already occupied so I bought this to add a Samsung 980 1TB in a PCIe slot. Process went like this (this is my experience, not a list of instructions - your hardware, your own risk!):- Updated BIOS to 1.D to ensure the new SSD would be bootable- Set slots to 8x/8x/0x- Installed SSD on this adapter card.- Installed card in second PCIe 16x slot (running at 8x)- Booted into Windows 10, downloaded and installed Samsung Data Migration Tool- Followed instructions in Data Migration Tool to clone C: Drive- Once complete went into BIOS and set new SSD as boot drive- Rebooted and Windows 10 correctly booted from new SSD (now C:)I didn't bother with the heatsink or thermal pads as for my workloads the SSD won't be worked so hard as to throttle and I have great case airflow. I haven't noticed any graphics performance loss by operating my GPU (980 TI) at PCIe 3.0 8x speed.NOTE THIS ADAPTER NEEDS A PHYSICAL 16x SLOTI love it when a product just does what it's supposed to with no fuss and no complications. Highly recommended

Plug and play - worked fine first time
Wanted to replace my old boot SSD with a new one. only had one M.2. port so used this - worked perfectly. Just popped the SSD in, slotted this card into a free PCIe and booted - the disk was detected, I was advised I needed to mount and format the drive, then I got to clone the existing SSD onto the new drive. It really was that simple.Okay, I then had the bright idea of putting the old SSD onto the card and use it as a spare disk, and that didn't work - but that was an M.2 SATA disk which isn't supported - as noted both in the description of the card and in the manual - swapped the M.2. SATA for an M.2. PCIe (16 bit as noted in the description) and it was detected, no problem. So check the manual when using to avoid silly mistakes and this works great!

effective adapter for NVME SSDs
Easy to install and use and it works flawlessly with my SSD. The adapter supports PCIe Gen3 and Gen2 M.2 SSDs of various sizes, and it comes with a heat sink and a thermal pad to keep the SSD cool and prevent throttling. The adapter fits in a PCIe x16 slot, but it only uses x4 lanes, so it doesn’t affect the performance of other PCIe devices. The adapter doesn’t require any drivers or software, and it was recognized by Windows 10 automatically.Pros:1- A simple and effective way to add an NVME SSD to your PC2- Supports various sizes and types of M.2 SSDs3- Comes with a heat sink and a thermal pad for better cooling4- Doesn’t require any drivers or software5- Doesn’t interfere with other PCIe devicesCons:1- Only supports NVME SSDs, not SATA SSDs2- Only fits in a PCIe x16 slot, which may be limited on some motherboards3- No instructions or screws included in the packageReasons to buy:-If you want to upgrade your PC with an NVME SSD without changing your motherboard-If you want to improve the speed and performance of your storage device-If you want a simple and hassle-free installation processReasons to avoid:-If you have a SATA SSD or a motherboard with an M.2 slot-If you don’t have a spare PCIe x16 slot on your motherboard-If you need more guidance or accessories for the installation

Renders the PC unstable
The adapter arrives with thermal pads and they're so thick, they more insulator than conductor. After I switched over to proper thermal pads, tuned out, the adapter made my PC completely unstable with random reboots, slow disk IO, slow or not booting up at all. I lost the data from my SSD what I used in the adapter and as I don't want to have more data loss, I took off the adapter and moved back the SSD to its original USB case. The SSD works perfectly there and in the same PCI slot, other device works too,I contacted the seller, but be prepared in the same situation, you should make videos about the issue. Which in my case is impossible, as how would you make a footage of a random event? Anyway, as I already lost data and don't want to risk more, I won't do it and risk the health of my whole PC.Go for a quality adapter from another well-known and supported brand. I don't recommend this one to anyone at all.
