We give to our volleyball team for officiating at volleyball tournament and they work great.

Cheaper whistle, you have to put a lot of air behind it and it is a higher-pitch sound. We just bought a bunch of Fox 40 whistles and could tell a big difference. Note, the lanyards are quite simple and not a thick cord, though sufficient.

You have to blow very hard to get a descent tone out of these! Will not buy again!

Terrible tone and volume for pealess whistles. Bought to use for sports officials and was thoroughly disappointed. You can achieve a decent volume with a practiced whistle blow but still does not compare to similar types of whistles. The low price in comparison to other whistles of this type is understood by the overall low quality.

we were going to use these to replace some older Fox 40's. Similar design but not suitable for lifeguard use.

Maybe I was expecting a Fox 40, this is certainly not as good. It does make an okay whistling sound, but you need to blow pretty hard to get the attention of everyone in the field.
